From the outset, the internal acoustics were crucial to the overall performance of the facility as an assembly space and show court.
Durra Panel with Perforated Colorbond Soundsorb was used throughout the ceiling area in order to minimise noise reverberation within the multipurpose space. The corrugated Black Colorbond facing offered durability from sporting equipment during classes, while still retaining an architectural touch above the eye-catching trusses.
The Durra Lifting Frame enabled 70m² modules of roof and ceiling to be assembled at once, accelerating the installation program, ensuring fast coverage, and allowing access to trades below.
The result was a world-class sporting facility for the Queensland boys’ school with acoustic performance to match.
