Sound Stage 9

Located at Movie World on the Gold Coast, the new sound stage was required to be fast tracked in construction to meet upcoming film productions.

Overall the project consisted of 6,500m² of Durra Panel and Durra Steel Sections.

With a 25m + roof height, site safety was an issue with conventional building materials in obtaining the correct noise control and acoustic absorption for the studio.

Durra Panel complete with our Soundsorb absorptive facing was assembled on ground and installed across the 3,716m² ceiling and upper wall areas using our Durra Lifting Frame. There were 40 lifts of 114m² to complete the roof/ceiling system which was undertaken in just 7 days including the installation on the roof decking.
