Renowned designer Joost Bakker approached the Green House project with a simple but ambitious philosophy: start with the end in mind. His goal was to create a self-sustaining, zero-waste home that could provide shelter, produce food, generate energy, and demonstrate a new way of living. The project showcases how thoughtful design and sustainable materials can address some of the biggest environmental challenges.
Durra Panel was specified throughout the building’s internal floors, walls, and ceilings for its sustainability, durability, and high-performance properties. As a carbon-storing, cradle-to-cradle material, Durra Panel aligned perfectly with the project’s zero-waste and regenerative goals. Its modular, lightweight design allowed rapid installation without compromising environmental integrity.
The Green House demonstrates how homes can actively contribute to solving global challenges through regenerative design. By combining innovative architecture with high-performance, sustainable materials like Durra Panel, the project sets a benchmark for future-forward, low-impact living.
