Creating the ideal studio space for a composer requires more than instruments and software, it demands an environment that is as acoustically refined as the work itself. For acclaimed Australian composer Dale Cornelius, known for his evocative and powerful soundtracks, a studio space that supports both creativity and high-quality sound production is essential.
Dale chose Durra Panel along with Durra Steel Sections to convert his garage into a studio. Durra Panel’s acoustic properties have been proven in both performance and recording environments, with the material specifically engineered to mitigate low-frequency sounds and allowed him to create a sound stage with remarkable clarity and depth, enabling his compositions to resonate authentically.
One unique aspect of Dale’s studio design was the need to build only three walls instead of the typical four, necessary to maintain access to an existing fire panel located on one wall of the garage. While this configuration posed a challenge, it also brought creative opportunities resulting in a well-supported three-walled studio that combined functionality, safety, and superb acoustics.
