For the roof installation at Woodleigh School’s Futures Centre, South East Building Services had originally allowed three weeks to complete 740 m² of roofing. However, through the efficiency and simplicity of Durra Panel, the team of four workers completed the installation in just three days—an outcome that delivered an 80% saving in both program and cost.
Billy Sykes, Project Manager, highlights how this efficiency translated into real benefits for the project. “Because of the time and money saved, we were able to pass these advantages on to the client in other areas of the build,” he explains.
The installation process was straightforward and stress-free thanks to Durra Panel’s pre-cut, made-to-size panels and the use of a crane to lift them into place. Each panel was easily fixed to the Durra I beams at nominal 450 mm centres, making the whole process smooth and predictable.
SEBS also valued the local availability of Durra Panels. “It’s great to have panels that are locally made and tailored to size, this makes planning and execution much simpler.” Billy adds.
