KCC Cotton Gin

Project

KCC Cotton Gin

Durra Panel supplied 7,200 sqm of modular wall and ceiling systems for KCC to address sound isolation issues for their cotton gin. The project featured 56 lifted modules, the largest at 125 sqm, with a Colourbond finish.
In total, 56 prefabricated modules were lifted into place, with the largest totalling approximately 125 sqm.

Durra Panel played a crucial role in the successful completion of the KCC Cotton Gin, a groundbreaking facility designed with a strong focus on sound isolation to minimise noise breakout to nearby residential areas. Spanning 7,200 sqm, this project marks a first-of-its-kind development for the client and sets a new benchmark for industrial noise control.

Located in one of the most remote sites in Durra Panel’s history, the project presented unique logistical challenges which required innovative construction solutions. A fully modularised wall and ceiling system was implemented allowing for efficient installation while ensuring superior acoustic and durability performance.

A key engineering feat of this project was the assembly and installation of the largest lifting frame ever used, requiring two cranes to position it onto the structure. In total, 56 prefabricated modules were lifted into place, with the largest spanning approximately 125 sqm.

To withstand the demands of an industrial setting, the interior was finished with Colourbond, providing a durable, spray-resistant, and impact-resistant surface that ensures long-term resilience and low maintenance.

The KCC Cotton Gin project stands as a testament to Durra Panel’s ability to deliver high-performance, sustainable solutions in even the most challenging environments.
