Overview:

The Ausco / Samsung Gnarwarre project delivered high-quality onsite modular solutions, including offices, meeting rooms, and breakout spaces in regional Victoria. To meet tight deadlines, the wall systems were pre-assembled at Ausco’s production facility and then transported to the site. This approach provided a flexible, low-waste system tailored for short lead times.

The Challenge:

The project required a modular wall system that supported rapid installation while meeting high sustainability and acoustic targets. A specific logistical challenge involved pre-assembling the panels at the Ausco production facility before transporting them to the final location. Furthermore, the system needed to be highly adaptable; Ausco required the ability to remove the walls and return the building to a shell once the project no longer required the facility.

Our Approach/The Solution:

Durra Panel developed a modular wall solution using aluminium sections for the S50 Durra Panels, providing a cleaner and more refined finish compared with traditional steel channels. The panels were pre-assembled at Ausco’s production facility, then transported and adjusted on-site with aluminium sections trimmed as needed to suit the space and reduce waste. This approach allowed the team to accelerate installation, offering greater flexibility than previous offsite-built frames that extended lead times and limited modifications. The Durra system also outperformed traditional wall builds in acoustic isolation, while providing modularity and operational efficiency, ensuring the project met both performance and sustainability objectives.

Outcome:

The project was successfully delivered, with the Durra Panel walls meeting all acoustic and operational requirements. The Ausco team was able to install the modular units efficiently, benefiting from the pre-assembly process and the flexibility of the aluminium section system. Acoustic performance exceeded traditional wall solutions, while the primed flat paint finish provided a durable, low-maintenance surface. Overall, the project demonstrates how modular design, pre-assembly, and flexible installation can combine to deliver fast, high-quality, and sustainable onsite facilities.
